    Hello Elisabeth,
I am writing this note to you as I prepare an article for Roseville Lutheran’s bulletin board and our November newsletter, The TABLE. I am part of the Mission and Outreach team and want you to know how happy we are to be a part of your ministry. I was on an extended vacation and am back as are many Minnesotans. Reading your blog is inspiring and thrilling. I will keep the rest of my team apprised of your news and will encourage them to keep in touch with you as well. Our website is: rosevillelutheran.org . When you have time, take a look at it.

We will be putting your picture and parts of your blog on the board for our members to see. We look forward to hearing from you and to having you come to visit us when you are on leave. Blessings to you as you are teaching in the seminary. Any time you are here, you are welcome to visit, teach and share your experiences in Cameroon and share New Testament teachings with us. We look forward to staying in touch. Know that we pray for you daily and look forward to meeting you.

Peace, Love, Joy, and Hope in Christ, our Lord and Savior

Hello Dr. Johnson. I just wanted to leave a quick note of thanks for your excellent commentary on Matthew 13 that I found over at workingpreacher.org. I was struggling a bit with the parables and figured I’d do a quick Google search for some help. I said a quick prayer for guidance, and bam – my eyes went to your entry on the search results page. Your comments were lucid and beautifully written, and I could feel your love for Yeshua in all that you wrote. I am very much looking forward to reading your other commentaries. Isn’t it amazing how when we ask God for help with each “little” thing, He gives us exactly what we need?. Thank you again and God bless.

Goodmorning Elizabeth, I’m writing from New Brunswick Canada and just wanted to thank you for your commentary on John 14:23-29 at Preaching This week. It has informed me and I have learned much from it, especially your concept of eternal life beginning while we are still living. I think that is inspired!
Blessings and all the best in your work

    Good Morning!
I am a 4th grade Sunday School teacher and have been teaching the children about missionaries. They now know your name and can find where you are located on the globe. The class will be sponsoring you on Palm Sunday. I thought you might enjoy knowing how much you are touching the lives of all of us. Blessings to you.

I am a teacher at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, Minnesota. We have a special basket with your picture in it for our missionary support money. I will be looking up more information on Cameroon to share with the kids in 2 weeks. We will not be having SS next week because of our annual meeting at church. Hope all is well with you. You are always in my prayers. KarenI

    Dr. Johnson:

I am an ELCA pastor in Sandusky, Ohio. And, upon checking in “Working Preacher” on the alternate Gospel lesson for the Day of Pentecost, I was directed to your commentary from three years ago. How cool it will be to tell folk on Sunday that a resource person for the sermon is a professor at a Lutheran seminary in Cameroon! I have printed your latest blog entry for folks to read. And, for what it’s worth, I have a friend, Kurt Meyers, a retired pastor in Toledo, Ohio, who not only was a missionary in Cameroon but came from the same home congregation as I did on the south side of Columbus, Ohio.

Thanks for your “Working Preacher” contributions, and God’s blessings in your newly-married life!

      Pr. Gardner,

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is always good to know the commentaries are helpful to those preparing sermons and Bible studies.

God’s blessings to you also in your ministry, and to your friend, Pr. Meyers, the former missionary to Cameroon!

    Dr. Johnson,
Thank you so much for the work you are doing in Cameroon. What a beautiful people and place!
I came across a short commentary you wrote on John 7:37-38 and was interested that you did not mention Ezekiel 47:1-12. I had read somewhere that the Ezekiel was read during Shavuot.
May the Lord continue to bless your ministry greatly!
